Big news, folks: In collaboration with Greening Projects, we received a letter of support from none other than the California Department of Transportation, aka Caltrans. This letter is in support of our federal grant application, which could provide up to $2 million dollars worth of funding for a comprehensive study of Central Freeway alternatives. There's no guarantee, of course, but this show of support gets us much closer.
We are incredibly thankful for Caltrans leadership, and we hope to continue to build a strong partnership with them as we move forward. Given we are awarded this important federal grant, Caltrans will be integral to our success as we take part in a significant study and design process of Central Freeway alternatives.
As always, the local community will be at the heart of any process that unfolds. Vision Blvd was founded by community members negatively impacted by the Central Freeway, and we will remain a local, grassroots, and community-driven effort until "The Stub" is removed, once and for all.
